In the Mail

Two years from first thinking that not only had the time come, I actually could do this...
Seven years from first dreaming that someday I might do this...
There it is in the mailbox - the book proposal.
Now its up to someone else.
And yes, in all probability, quite a few more someone elses

But there it is: a dream now out and loose in the world.

Peace!

Congratulations! This is encouraging for me, too. I've had "get a book manuscript together" on my New Year Resolutions list for three years now, and so far it's still a lot of scattered notes. Now I'll keep putting it on the list, even if it takes another four years. :) Write On!

Hey - Its Anitra Freeman who, among other things, started the Dance of Anitras page (http://anitra.net/webring/index.html)

Its really really hard to get from "gee, I want to write a book" to actual bonified book proposal. And quite frankly, I don't know if what i have done is good enough... I'm almost certainly goinng to keep tweeking it.

There's a difference between writing a whole book and writing a book proposal. I chose to concentrate on the book proposal so I'd be inspired to keep the focus on a book should a contract actually appear. There are a number of web sites w free advice (natch, I think everyone who writes a book turns around and writes a web site on how they did it) and probably more helpful information in the library.

I think you have an important story to tell - and you have a good voice.

Keep Dancing!

Horray! You did it! Getting it done and in the mail must feel great. (or it should)
Keeping fingers crossed, and prayers going that just the right person gets ahold of it and says, "this is exactly the kind of thing we've been looking for!"
And remember, I want an autographed copy of the first release.
