The Aimee and Bob Show Goes On the Road

Last Saturday morning, November 10, Aimee and I both stood for ordination trials before Cascades Presbytery. Facing 300+ people to answer questions about theology, spirituality, call, or anything else they want to ask is a stress-making experience. At least it was for me.

Both of us did fine, and both of us were approved for ordination. On the the next step.
Thanks for your prayers.

Hi, Alexis,
The questions I got tracked pretty closely with my statement. There was a question about the ministry I've been doing since graduation. There was a question about the self-sufficiency of God. There was a question about how scripture holds us accountable to God. There was a baptism question. That's all I remember off the top of my head. I was surprised that there wasn't an atonement question for either of us--there's been one for every candidate I've seen examined for the last several presbyteries. Generally speaking, the folks in Cascades stay on topic and their examinations are very fair.
Heather will be in my prayers. She can take some comfort that, at least for me, the anticipation of the examination was a whole lot worse that the examination itself.
